AN OUT of control car crashed into a Doveton factory last Saturday night.
The blue Toyota Corolla smashed into the window of the Engine Australia factory on the Princes Highway near Claredale Road about 10.40pm.
Business at the diesel parts factory operated as usual on Monday – albeit with a temporary wall in place.
Engine Australia manager Andrew Baillie said a building surveyor was called out to the scene and declared the structure as safe.
“It hasn’t caused to much inconvenience. They have basically had to replace the brick work and window frame around the crash site,” Mr Baillie said.
Hallam and Dandenong CFA members attended the scene along with ambulance and police officers
Hallam fire officer Troy Thornton said the two men in the car were transported to Dandenong Hospital by ambulance. He said the recent increase in cars crashing into houses and businesses was alarming for everyone in the community.
“The broader emergency service message is for drivers to take care – particularly in higher urban areas and around schools. “It is just common sense,” Mr Thornton said.
