Join up for ageing group

NOMINATIONS are being sought from Casey residents to join the Casey Ageing Positively Steering Group for the next two-year term.
Casey manager of community development Janette Green said the group was a vital component of the city’s ageing positively plan.
“Council’s Ageing Positively in Casey plan addresses the challenges faced by Casey’s growing population of older residents, and has resulted in a wide range of activities, events and resources being developed, since it was launched in 2005.
“The success of the plan and its implementation is largely due to the partnership of community representatives working closely with council officers over the past two years,” Ms Green said.
The role of the steering group includes providing feedback on the development of Ageing Positively Projects/Plans, assisting in identifying emerging issues relevant to older residents, developing and supporting key working groups, evaluating aspects of the Ageing Positively in Casey Plan, and encouraging and supporting activities and events of the Ageing Positively in Casey Plan.
Nominations close on Friday, 22 June. For a nomination form or for more information contact Casey’s community development administration officer Lauren Norman on 9705 5200, or visit www.casey.vic. gov.au/aged.
