Police arrest four in street sweep

FOUR people have been arrested during a Casey Response Unit (CRU) operation.
Police targeted anti-social behaviour in the Berwick and Narre Warren area during Operation Stane last weekend.
A 46-year-old Pakenham woman and 36-year-old Northcote woman were arrested and charged with several offences including attempted theft of number plates and tampering with a motor car.
They are set to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 27 June.
Police also arrested and charged two Berwick men, aged 24 and 23, with being drunk in a public place.
The 24-year-old is also charged with resisting arrest and the 23-year-old will answer a charge a possessing a controlled weapon.
Both men will appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 28 June.
Narre Warren Acting Sergeant Justin Cornford said the CRU would continue Operation Stane over the coming weekends.
