Takeaway stop proves costly for driver

A 23-YEAR-old man was beaten and robbed in Doveton last Thursday after returning to his parked car.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren police said the Belgrave South man had briefly left his car to pick up his take-away dinner and withdraw money from an ATM.
Snr Sgt Wilcox said when the man returned to his car parked on Box Street two men entered the back seat and hit him from behind before stealing his wallet.
The man suffered bruising and swelling on the back of the head.
Police released a description of one of the men. They said he was of Pacific Islander appearance and wearing a blue jacket and black hat.
The incident occurred between 7 and 7.30pm.
