2020 vision takes on local focus

HOLT MP Anthony Byrne has invited the local community to participate in a local 2020 Summit, ahead of the Australia 2020 summit next month.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will convene the Australia 2020 Summit in Canberra, bringing together some of the best and brightest brains from across the country to tackle the country’s long-term challenges.
Mr Byrne, along with other MPs, will host Your Local 2020 Summit on Saturday 5 April to ensure the best local ideas are collected and included in the national process.
Mr Byrne said it was important that local families, business owners, young people and senior citizens were also involved.
“We will achieve the best ideas for our country’s future by including as many people as possible in the conversation,” he said.
The local summit will discuss six key areas – education and training; infrastructure; climate change; healthcare; strengthening communities; and national security.
The outcomes of the local summit will be formally submitted to the national summit for consideration in the discussion.
To nominate yourself or someone else to attend Your Local 2020 Summit on 5 April, contact Anthony Byrne’s office on 9796 7533 for a nomination form or email ab@anthonybyrnemp.com.
Nominations close at 5pm on Thursday 27 March.
