Band expands musical tastes

ELASTIC Band, a touring project for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, visited the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick earlier this month to display their musical talents.
The school holiday performances of Miss Adelaide’s Cool Concert had children enthralled as they interacted with the band and enjoyed their entertaining tunes.
The show offered a shared family outing for many local families who listened to an array of musical instruments and enjoyed the concert experience.
The group has performed at thousands of concerts and shows since forming in 1988 and band member Paul Williams, a former associate principal bassoonist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra played the flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder and bassoon during the performances.
His wife Margaret Dickson plays violin in the band, Sue Goessling plays piano, and Miss Adelaide, Paul and Margaret’s daughter, also sings and dances in the show.
Brother Dominic Williams, a guitarist, also features in the band.
