Casey smells the flowers

By Rebecca Fraser
THE seeds have been sown for Casey Council to grow a stand at the next Melbourne Flower Show.
Casey deputy mayor Rob Wilson planted the idea at last Tuesday’s council meeting and said the display would help promote local agricultural and horticultural products.
Cr Wilson said he visited the recent Melbourne Flower Show and noticed a number of municipalities had their own stands.
He said a display would highlight Casey’s agricultural industries and local vegetable growers and orchards.
Cr Wilson said the number of people that went through the flower show’s doors was astronomical and the event could help lift Casey’s profile.
Council officers will now investigate the possibility of coordinating a display and will report back to the council.
