Cash for support group

A CHILDREN and family services support group will receive just under $180,000 each year to help vulnerable families in the Casey region.
The Connections – Child, Youth and Family Services group has been given the funding as part of an $85 million, four-year Federal Government program.
Victorian Senator Mitch Fifield announced the cash boost, as part of the Reconnect program, last week.
“This funding will allow Connections to deliver its valuable services to the local community in Cranbourne, Hampton Park and Narre Warren,” he said.
“Connections will receive funding of up to $178,033 a year to continue its work with young people and their families, providing a range of activities, including counselling, group work, family mediation and practical support.”
Reconnect is an Australian Government initiative that provides early intervention support to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
