Colour of charity

MORE than $25,000 was raised last week when Casey residents opened their hearts and wallets for Kids with Cancer.
Narre Warren was the scene for all the fun, colour and excitement of Victoria’s major Bluey Day event on Saturday.
About 20 emergency services personnel had their heads shaved, all in the name of raising money for sick children.
Lead event organiser Senior Constable Karen Elliott said the organising group thoroughly enjoyed putting on the Bluey Day show.
“It’s the only charity which combines the police and emergency services, so it gives us a chance to work closely with like-minded people in the community, make great friends and, ultimately, raise some money for Kids with Cancer,” Sen Con Elliott said.
Several local businesses donated time, goods and money to the event including Brookmere Meats, Krispy Kreme and Autobarn Fountain Gate.
Bluey Day national marketing manager Mandy Passmore said the event received amazing support and significant contributions from many organisations.
“The City of Casey came on board and certain councillors even sprayed their hair blue on the day,” Ms Passmore said.
