Court throws out mayor assault damages claim

A CIVIL damages and personal injury claim against Casey mayor Kevin Bradford has been dismissed.
Convicted murderer Celia Clayton had filed a claim following her allegation that she was sexually assaulted while in custody at Dandenong Police Station where Cr Bradford was serving as a senior constable.
There was no criminal investigation into the claims.
However, Clayton filed for civil damages claiming personal injury, mental injury, embarrassment and humiliation as a result of the alleged incident.
But her claims were dismissed last week in the Melbourne County Court.
Last week Cr Bradford issued a short statement.
“The judge has ordered that the case be dismissed and I am happy the issue is now over,” he said.
