Emily makes it a double celebration

By Callan Date
IT may have taken a little longer than normal but it was well worth the wait for Casey Hospital’s first arrival of 2007.
Emily Paige Broadbent was welcomed into the world at 8.10pm on 1 January and gave parents Chelsea and Glen back-to-back celebrations.
Weighing in at a healthy eight pounds four ounces (3742 grams), Emily is the second child for the Lynbrook couple – who still managed to see in the New Year in style.
“We were at a friend’s house and we somehow stayed out until just after midnight,” Chelsea said.
The proud mother said Emily was originally due on 2 January but arrived slightly earlier.
“I checked into the hospital about 2pm on Monday and it all happened about six hours later.”
Both mother and child are doing well, with Chelsea hoping to be back at home with her daughter by today (Thursday).
Emily is a younger sister for Chloe, who is also thrilled with the new addition to the family.
Chelsea said she would now be expecting New Year’s Eve to be an extra special occasion every year.
Although it’s almost 12 months before Emily can expect Christmas or birthday presents, there will be one big celebration.
“She can be guaranteed a party every year, that’s for sure,” Chelsea said.
