Free up more disk space

There are many places computer users can check their machines to recover hard disk space.
To begin with, empty the recycle bin regularly.
Whenever a file is deleted or thrown away, it is automatically moved to the recycle bin.
This is so accidentally deleted files can easily be recovered without too many dramas.
The problem can be that the recycle bin can go for weeks, months, or even years without being emptied, and files can sit there taking up hard disk space that is completely unnecessary.
To empty the recycle bin, simply double click the bin icon on the desktop.
It would be a good idea to scroll through the list of files located here to ensure that you don’t permanently purge documents of system files that could be needed in the future.
To progress to the next step and purge all the files living in the recycle bin, click the menu item labelled ‘File’ and then click on ‘Empty Recycle Bin’.
Pressing ‘Yes’ will then confirm and purge everything, which should free up hard disk space.
Depending on how long it has been since the bin last was emptied, such a purge can recover large amounts of space.
On the other hand, this may not make much noticeable difference, but the results will be different for all computers.
One important rule when freeing up hard disk space is to make sure what a certain file or program is or does, otherwise do not delete it.
Many files live on a computer and appear to do nothing more than hog space on the hard disk.
In fact the file could be an integral part of the operating system and deleting it could bring the computer to a halt.
