Games fun dress rehearsal

CASEY schools found the Commonwealth Games spirit last Thursday when they pulled on their running shoes at Akoonah Park in Berwick.
VCAL students from Eumemmerring College hosted the Fun Run/Walk to celebrate the event next March.
More than 400 grade five and six students from Maramba, Oatlands and Southern Cross primary schools walked around the 1.6km track with senior citizens and young mothers’ groups also taking part.
There was also face painting, a jumping castle and a DJ on the day and Karak the Commonwealth Games mascot made an appearance.
A free barbecue lunch was also provided.
