POLICE are appealing for the good Samaritan who assisted a sexual assault victim last weekend to come forward.
Police said the female victim is unsure of the exact location of the attack, but it is believed to be in the Cranbourne, Pearcedale, Frankston and Langwarrin areas.
Detectives from Frankston Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are investigating the incident and said a man came to the aid of the victim, who was stranded on the side of the road.
The man drove the woman to an address in Somerville between 5am and 7am on Sunday.
The only description police have of the vehicle is that it was a dark colored ute driven by a man.
Police would like this driver who helped the woman to contact them.
