Hills alive with council rumour

ENDEAVOUR Hills has been touted as a possible location for a future Casey Council meeting.
Four Oaks Ward councillor Paul Richardson has called for at least two council meetings a year to be held in Endeavour Hills, and said ratepayers deserved to have a meeting in their own suburb.
The fortnightly meetings are currently held in the council chambers in Narre Warren, and Cranbourne hosts two meetings a year.
Last week’s council meeting was held in the Old Shire Offices in Cranbourne and Cr Richardson said he would like to see a similar event occur in his own ward.
“I believe that rate payers have the right to attend meetings in their own suburbs like they can in Cranbourne,” he said.
Cr Richardson is currently looking at suitable locations and said he believed the Endeavour Hills leisure centre might be the ideal venue.
He said he planned to raise a notice of motion at the next council meeting about the matter and was hopeful that a meeting could be staged by August or September.
Cr Richardson said he had also discussed the idea with Holt MP Anthony Byrne who was also keen to see council meetings held in Endeavour Hills.
