Lady Casey artwork donated to city

THE City of Casey received some prized history last week when an illustration and painting from Lord Richard Casey’s wife was donated to the council.
The art works by Lady Maie Casey will be received by council officials in the coming weeks after a kind donation from Adelaide resident Greg Mason.
The historical pieces will be kept on display in the Berwick Mechanics Institute Library and will join other Casey mementos on show to the public.
Lady Casey was a keen artist and writer and put her creative touch on several items that the council now has in its possession.
Lord Casey served in several high-ranking government positions including a term as Federal Treasurer.
The City of Casey adopted the famous name from Lord and Lady Casey in December 1994 in recognition of their services throughout the local area.
