Narre North wins without loss

AN outright B-grade win without losing wickets in either innings and a Peter Tomich hat-trick in one-day grade were the highlights of Saturday’s round for Narre North Cricket Club.
B GRADE
Narre North showed its abundance of talent by scoring an easy outright win over Parkfield.
Narre North dismissed Parkfield for 65 in the second innings, Tristan Scott being the pick of the bowlers and taking 5/20.
This set Narre North 46 to win that was quickly scored without loss.
To win outright without losing a wicket in either innings was a great feat.
C GRADE
Having dismissed Lyndale for 110, Narre North easily scored the runs to win, batting out the day to finish 9/238.
Best of the batsmen were Chris Potalj with a fine 62 and Johnny Mathioulakis with 50 not out.
D GRADE
Narre North dismissed Parkfield for 102, with Brian Hallett (3/4) and Austinn Jones (3/6) the pick of the bowlers.
Asked to bat again, Parkfield was 1/45 in the second innings.
ONE-DAY
In a devasting spell by Peter Tomich, the big fast bowler picked up a hat-trick and singlehandedly dragged Narre North back into the contest with Fountain Gate (267).
Narre North started the chase well, at one stage being 2/151 before the wobbles set in, and the side was all out for 225.
Best of the batsmen were Peter Hunter (56), John Rankin (52) and Rod Gason (40).
UNDER 17
All Narre North players did well and assisted in a great win by amassing 150. Chris Potalej made a fine 60 and was well supported by James Waldron, 29.
UNDER 15 (1)
A classy Endeavour Hills side declared at 1/134, leaving Narre North a big task to avoid outright defeat.
The batters worked hard and finished the day 7/58. Pick of the batsmen were Mitchell Donaldson with a gritty 21.
UNDER 15 (2)
Coomoora resumed at 2/8 but, although bowling well, Narre North was unable to stop Coomoora scoring the 75 runs necessary.
Coomoora was all out 105. Best of the bowlers were Anunja Herath (2/9) and Daniel Dowling (2/10).
UNDER 15 (3)
Narre North worked hard in the field and bowled well, but was unable to stop Noble Park posting a winning score of 270.
Notable highlights were Josh Johnston’s 2/20 and Josh Robinson’s 1/15, their first wickets in competitive cricket.
UNDER 13 (2)
Narre North let this game slip. Requiring only 75 for victory, the side was dismissed for only 50.
UNDER 13 (3)
Narre North, defending a first innings of 105, managed to dismiss Narre Warren for 83.
Bowling and fielding was good, seven catches were taken and there was good team spirit on the field. Better bowlers were Haydn Potgieter with four wickets and Steven Vieyra two.
JOEYS BLUE
All players performed well first-up, the best being Jackson Craig, Ben Dekonning and Chris Moon.
JOEYS BLACK
It was an excellent first game by Narre North with good talking in the field and plenty of encouragement by all. Best players were Zak Calvert, Ryan Osbourne and Jake Bartels.
