No class on grass

HAMPTON Park Bowls Club’s division-four side was outclassed when it played on grass for the first time this season at Berwick.
Andrew Brandolin, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield gave Berwick an 11 shot start and were unable to bridge the gap (18-30).
After a shaky start, Les Unwin, Ken Cobden, Robert Naismith and skip Graham Slight settled down to score the only win for the day (30-20).
As the game progressed, Pat Moevasa, Bernie Bruggeman, Larry Simpson and skip Neville Hendrie slowly slipped further behind (16-27).
Losing the first four and the last seven ends of the game made it hard for Jeff Crozier, Zac Storm, Lionel Williams and skip Geoff Ladner to beat their opponents (16-33).
Scores: Hampton Park 2-80 lost to Berwick 16-110.
