Valentine lovers indulge their animal passions

WHILE Casey lovebirds are busy hatching passionate plans for Valentine’s Day, their beloved pets are also set for a touch of romance.
David Herman, managing director of Pets at Home in Narre Warren, said a lot of couples were choosing to share the love around by pampering their fourlegged companions.
He said the store was offering an array of special treats, including “dog kisses” and even “fish treats” for spoilt and wellloved pets.
Mr Herman said the store had a selection of gift packs, fiveminute makeovers and luxury canine vet and spa treatments available for Valentine’s Day shoppers.
In an unusual twist, the store will also have a pet communicator in store on Saturday to allow pet lovers to find out how their beloved companions are feeling whether the animals are dead or living.
Telepathic communicator Pamela Adams said she had been offering her service professionally since 2001 through her company Soul Companions, but knew from a young age that she had a special ability.
“People come to me for two different reasons.
“The first is to consult me for their live animals and those who consult me when their pets have already died and they have gone back in spirit.
“Those with living pets want to know if their animals are happy and well,” she said.
Ms Adams said other pet owners contacted her when their pets had passed away.
“They contact me because they want to continue communicating with their pets and because their sense of loss is just so great.
“Often they (the pets) give me something really out there and you have to stick your neck on the line and even feel like a bit of an idiot when you tell the owners,” she said.
Ms Adams said she firstly introduced herself to the animals and made a connection.
“Then I go off and do something mundane and see what filters through.
“ One time I just kept hearing this Cliff Richard song, Bachelor Boy, over and over again.
“I sat down to email the person and I said I don’t know what this means but I cannot get this Cliff Richard song out of my head.
“She replied that Cliff Richards was her favourite singer and she had sung that song to her cat all the time,” she said.
Ms Adams will be at Pets at Home, Westfield Fountain Gate, Overland Drive, Narre Warren, on Saturday from 11am to 3pm where she will meet pets and look at pet photos.
