Blues on the rise

BLUES and roots artist Ash Grunwald will perform at the Hallam Hotel and Westernport Hotel this month.
Last year was a busy and successful year for Grunwald with his album Give Signs nominated for the ARIAs Best Blues and Roots album as well as Best Independent Blues and Roots release.
He has also been selected to perform at this year’s SXSW conference in Austin, Texas.
Grunwald has toured the UK and Europe twice, visited Japan for a whirlwind promo trip when Give Signs was released there in October and also managed to squeeze in some shows and festival appearances across Australia.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Ash would want to take some time out after all that.
But not just yet, first Ash is planning to do what he loves best – a last blast run of summer shows.
Grunwald will play at the Westernport Hotel, 161 Marine Parade, San Remo, on Friday 25 January.
Tickets are $15 plus booking fee and are available from the venue on 5678 5205 and www.theatlasagency.com.
He will also perform at the Hallam Hotel, Princes Highway, Hallam, on Sunday 27 January. Tickets are $15 plus booking fee and can be purchased from the venue on 8786 0200 and at www.theatlasagency.com.
Doors at both shows open at 8pm.
