Call out for carols

NARRE Warren South is set to come alive this Saturday with local community groups preparing to bring in December with a Carols by Candlelight event.
There will be plenty of entertainment and cheer for all with about 1500 people expected to flock to Strathaird Reserve for the event which will culminate with a fireworks display.
Co-pastor of local church Oasis Christian Outreach Centre Julie Kelly said the group is working hard with local organisations and businesses to make sure the night is a memorable occasion for the local community.
“I am excited that this is an event that so many different community groups and businesses come together for,” she said.
“What better way for families to ring in the Christmas season.”
She said the committee wanted to remind pet owners living in the surrounding area to make sure they have made proper arrangements for their animals during the fireworks display.
Carols by Candlelight will be held at Strathaird Reserve on Community Parade, Narre Warren South, this Saturday 1 December.
A pre-program carnival for all the family will begin at 6pm, with food, drinks and $2 rides.
The main event will begin at 8pm, with Santa dropping in during the evening.
The night will conclude with a fireworks display at about 9.30pm.
