AT-RISK children will be the big winners from a huge night of entertainment in Berwick next month.
Windermere Child and Family Services is holding the community fundraiser which will feature music, comedy and a touch of sport among the performances.
All money raised will help fund the highly successful Kids becoming Champions (KbC) program, which assists severely abused and disadvantaged children living in the local area.
Local entertainers, including Casey Idol winner Naomi Horsley and local comedienne Barb Joseph – fresh from performing at the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival – will perform.
Sports commentator Michael Roberts is hosting the evening and Castello’s Berwick Springs Hotel has supplied the venue for free.
Windermere fundraising manager Kevin Noonan said the night was a great chance for local residents and businesses to show they are part of the local community.
“It will be a terrific night at $75 a head with food, drinks and entertainment, and all for a great local cause,” Mr Noonan said.
Windermere, which works predominantly within the City of Casey, Greater Dandenong and Shire of Cardinia, is calling on local businesses to get behind this big night.
The KbC program relies entirely on the generosity of the community.
Mr Noonan said the children involved with KbC are the most at-risk in the local community and require intensive support.
The event will take place at the Berwick Springs Hotel on 16 May.
