CASEY’S youngest residents are featured in a special art display at the Cranbourne Library.
The kids’ brightly coloured artworks portray their ideas and visions for Cranbourne’s future and are on display until the end of February.
The brilliant canvasses were prepared at the Cranbourne Speaks community consultation event hosted by the Cranbourne Community Planning Team late last year.
“Children were given the opportunity to comment on what they loved about living in Cranbourne, and what they would like to see in the future. Children worked with a local artist who was able to help them to express their thoughts and dreams on canvas,” City of Casey city living manager Richard Amon said.
The children’s comments were sought as part of community engagement and consultation and will be incorporated into the Cranbourne Community Plan.
“In general, children expressed bright, warm feelings for Cranbourne valuing the open spaces and schools and asking for more parks, gardens with flowers, play areas and sports opportunities,” Mr Amon said.
He said one optimistic child had even asked for a beach.
The Cranbourne Library is located at the Cranbourne Indoor Leisure Complex on Berwick- Cranbourne Road.
