Clubs head to the course for charity

THE Rotary clubs of Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills, with the support of the City of Casey and Bev Marks Beds Australia, will stage the 2007 Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day at Berwick Montuna Golf Club on Thursday 29 November.
Casey mayor Colin Butler said the council was pleased to support the annual event as one of two major sponsors.
He said communities gained from the wonderful work done by Rotary Clubs.
“Funds raised from the Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day will continue to assist and benefit residents within the City of Casey,” Cr Butler said.
Golf day convenor Rotarian Roger McGill said hit-off times were 8am and 1pm in a shotgun start with ambrose team events for men and women.
“Three hole-in-one prizes are on offer, as well as for the longest drive and nearest the pin,” he said.
“Players can enjoy a sit-down lunch or dinner after competing over the 18 holes.”
Rotary presidents Ken Larkin of Narre Warren and Paul Morris of Endeavour Hills also thanked the sponsors, and encouraged golfers to join in the popular fixture in the Rotary calendar.
Entry is $45 a player, or $40 for Berwick Montuna Golf Club members. Sponsorship inquiries are also invited. Further information is available from Roger McGill on 0429 345 627.
