Council says no to Berwick sex shop

A SEX shop owner was last week refused an application to establish an adult store in Berwick.
Casey Council refused a planning permit for a Sextastic Adult Variety Store to be located in a factory on Enterprise Avenue.
The outlet was set to sell sexually explicit literature, videos, lingerie and other sex aids.
Council received 23 objections, including a petition signed by 138 people.
Controversy surrounded several submissions received in support of the proposed sex bookshop, which were allegedly falsified.
Sex shop applicant Scott Gowans said there was a mix up with several names and addresses that supported the proposal.
