Farmers market heads for Berwick

CASEY residents are in for a treat or two when the popular Casey Farmers’ Market relocates to Berwick later this month.
The revamped market will now operate on the fourth Saturday of every month at the Old Cheese Factory.
The exciting new move will result in a range of stalls being set up in the picturesque gardens around the old Homestead.
Market manager Geoff Rankin said the change of date and venue had been well received by all stallholders and now needs to be supported by the community.
“As it has turned out we have stallholders coming to the new venue left, right and centre. It looks like we will have between 30 to 40 for the first market on 27 January,” Mr Rankin said.
He said the market was an ideal place for customers to pick up some of the freshest food available.
“We have fresh produce as well as meats, jams, wines, some of the finest fruit and vegetables and a range of other items,” he said.
The first Casey Farmers’ Market of 2007 will take place on 27 January at the Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick. It will be open from 8am to 12.30pm.
