Festive fun a drawcard

By Sarah Schwager
A DRAWING competition at Maramba Primary School, encouraged by a local real estate company, was a big hit with almost all students taking part.
The five winners, announced last week, each won a $50 Westfield Shopping Centre voucher.
Grant Real Estate Narre Warren senior salesperson Gavin Coyne said the drawings, which had to be Christmas related, along with the child’s name and school would be printed on 5000 Christmas cards.
Mr Coyne said the festive cards were sent out each year to the company’s established clients.
The winners were grade five student Morgan, Eddie, prep, Lachlan, grade three, Elena, grade six, and Maddison, grade two.
The drawings were all done in their art class with teacher Cathy Dobson and had to be free hand and a certain size.
Mr Coyne said Maramba Primary School principal Darrell Mullins had been very helpful and Grant Real Estate had also donated $500 to the school for their assistance.
“It’s a great example of a local business and primary school working together, and the kids enjoyed the challenge” Mr Coyne said.
