Hampton Park ladies win by two

ANOTHER triple-header for Hampton Park Bowls Club started with the Victorian Ladies’ Bowls Association A2 side winning its game at Burden Park by two shots.
Geri Graafsma, Ellen Smith, Gail Wilcock and skip Mary Hose won a tight game, 27-25
In another close match, Rhonda Diaper, Gail Williams, Alan Wilcock and skip Grace Hogan outlasted the opposition to win by four shots, 23-19
Ray Wood, Helen Lambert, Ann Westwell and skip Christine Hendrie were 11 shots down at the halfway point, and lost 27-18.
A small lead was opened in the later part of the game, which Jim Westwell, Gwen Clough, Shirley Burnside and skip Heather Naismith held on to, winning 26-21.
Score: Hampton Park 2/94 d Burden Park 0/92.
The Royal Victorian Bowls Association Division Four side played Narre Warren at home, winning three rinks and drawing on the other.
Sean McDonald, Larry Simpson, Bernie Braggeman and skip Neville Hendrie took the lead after the seventh end and stayed in front for the rest of the day, up 27-19.
A late charge by the opposition reduced the winning lead of Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield to a shot, 16-15.
Winning six ends in row late in the game gave Gerry Cox, Mark Paton, Robert Naismith and skip Graham Slight a good 10-shot victory, 24-14.
The lead in Vince Kovacic, Ken Cobden, Zac Storm and skip Geoff Ladner’s game seesawed all day, the team settling for a 26-26 draw.
Score: Hampton Park 17/93 d Narre Warren 1/74.
The Division Seven side travelled to Waverley Golf and scored a 320shot win.
Christine Hendrie, Allan Unwin, Keith Damon and skip Robert Nicol won the first six ends, which helped set up their five-shot win, 25-20.
It took only one shot on the last end to dash the hopes of Jim Westwell, Ray Wood, Alan Wilcock and skip Bill Webb, who lost 24-23.
Ray Leggett, Greg Pentland, Bob Meany and skip Fred McBrian had a runaway win, 42-18.
A 12-shot lead by Jose Van Hout, Paul Barna, Allan March and skip Rob Woff was whittled down to a four-shot win, 25-21.
