Logged on and ready to go

HALLAM residents are logged in and online when it comes to computers.
A recent $24,000 up-grade to the facilities at the Hallam Community Centre has resulted in the complex undergoing a dramatic transformation.
Existing computer facilities have been upgraded, additional computers instal-led and a new portable room added.
Parts of the building have also been renovated to allow easy access for the elderly and disabled.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan unveiled the new-look centre last week and chatted to residents about the improvements.
“Neighbourhood houses give people an opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and pursue new recreational opportunities in their local community,” Mr Donnellan said.
The Hallam Community Centre manager Dianne Wilson said the group specialises in computer classes for the more mature-aged person.
Local residents can also learn word processing, internet and other vital information technology skills.
“Casey residents deserve the best neighbourhood house facilities possible.
“These facility upgrades will assist in creating much more diverse services for community members to access,” Mr Donnellan said.
The Hallam upgrade is part of a wider $12.4 million commitment by the State Government to improve neighbourhood house infrastructure.
