Music to their ears

LIVE music in Casey may soon get a permanent home with councillors continuing to explore options to establish a purpose-built facility.
A large open dance floor, professional stage, lighting and sound equipment would all be part of the proposed facility.
The issue was raised by councillor Lorraine Wreford at a council meeting on Tuesday night.
A subcommittee, comprising relevant officers and interested councillors, will be formed to continue to pursue the matter.
Casey officers said in a report that: “Young people, in particular, would benefit from this type of facility as it would enable high quality, safe and accessible music events to be staged specifically for young people.
“In the future, if funding grants or other opportunities for a dedicated youth music facility become available, council officers will investigate and pursue these options.”
