NARRE Warren’s turf-one side fought back after an early batting slump against Berwick at Sweeney Reserve on Saturday to post a competitive 221 runs.
Berwick won the toss and elected to bowl and at 3/17 off 24 overs, it was looking a good decision.
Narre started a fightback with John Simpson 33, Dwayne Scott 36 batting through hard times.
Bill O’Loughlin then took advantage with a hard-hitting 78 and Chris Jarrett 52.
A GRADE
Hosting St. Bridget’s/St. Louis at Sweeney Reserve, Narre lost the toss and was asked to field in perfect conditions.
The visitors were soon in trouble at 5/33 at drinks, before digging in until the penultimate ball before tea when they lost their sixth wicket for 72.
After tea, the final four wickets fell cheaply for a final score of 85 with Craig Caarels and Mark Sarlija taking four wickets each, Glen Cank and Glen Clark one wicket each.
Narre Warren had 24 overs to bat and after losing a wicket in the first over, Perumal (20) and Green (53) got the win and was 3/86 at the end of play.
D GRADE
Narre Warren lost the toss with Doveton North deciding to bat.
After the first over that saw 18 runs and the loss of the new ball into the creek, it did start to improve with wickets falling steadily and the opposition was bowled out for 163 runs.
It was a good day in the field with all catches being held.
Best of the bowlers were Glen Landry 2/15 off 10 and Gavin Maling 1/0 off two.
Narre in reply is 2/34.
E GRADE
Narre Warren, playing Endeavour Hills, won the toss and elected to bat.
Steady batting all day saw Narre bat out the day and finish with 8/201, with Mark Lochery making his first half century in senior cricket, finishing on 55 not out. Dave Orchard made 43 and contributions from everyone in a good batting display.
ONE DAY
Narre playing Coomoora won the toss and elected to bat reaching 9/124.
Best of the bats were Sean Perera 46, Greg Dart 11.
Narre had three under 13s playing in the side and all made runs.
Coomoora reached Narre Warrens total in 26 overs.
Best of the bowlers were Greg Dart 1/29 and Aaron Templeton 1/21.
UNDER 15 (2)
Playing St Mary’s at Hillcrest Narre lost the toss and were sent in to field and made a poor start with 2/74 at drinks.
It was hard going as St Mary’s reached 2/117 before Narre fought back taking seven wickets for 44 runs.
Best of the bowlers were Benjamin Rotheram 3/20 off six overs.
UNDER 15 (3)
Narre had a bowl first after losing the toss tried hard all day, but North Dandenong was able to bat out the day.
Narre restricted it to 8/190 off 53 overs on a small ground.
Best of the bowlers was Mark Blanco who took 2/10 off five overs. Josh Sheahan took two catches.
UNDER 13 (1)
Playing Berwick and winning the toss, Narre Warren decided to bat and worked hard to reach a total of 6/168.
Anthony Jayalath, Matthew Clarke and Nathan King all retired after reaching 25. Some smart batting and good running between wickets was a highlight.

Berwick won the toss and decided to bat and at the end of the day’s play Narre Warren had it 5/89.
It was the best bowling of the season so far with only 20 extras. Best of the bowlers were Dylan Henry 3/1 and Kris Merz 1/5.

Playing North Dandenong, Narre lost the toss and was asked to bowl.
Great fielding and bowling had the opposition all out for 77 in the 34th over. Narre batted for six overs and is 1/6.
Best of the bowlers were Sheraz Majoka 3/5 and Joshua Stirling 3/10.
UNDER 11 BLACK
Narre Warren played Narre North at home at Sweeney.
Narre North batted first making 72 off 22 overs.
Best of the bowlers were Michael Thomson with 2/5 off two overs and also a great solo runout. Travis Johnston bowled two overs and picked up 1/5. Aiden Paton 0/2 off two overs, Paul Moreland took two catches and Hayden Stagg took one.
Narre then batted making a great effort to be 71 runs in fairly dark conditions.
Best of the bats were Paul Moreland six, Nathan Bertolini four and Jack King making two in his first game.
