SCOUTING recently turned 100 and now the 7th Doveton Scout Group is hoping to bring together 100 current and former members to celebrate the milestone.
The Doveton group will hold a barbecue next Saturday 21 April and is calling on all former members to join in the fun.
Several Doveton Scouts recently celebrated the century by joining thousands of their scouting colleagues from all over Victoria in a march to Parliament.
The day featured a parade up Bourke St, a Scouts Australia tram, a ceremony on the steps of Parliament House and a Scouting Expo held in Treasury Gardens.
Lord Robert Baden Powell first started the Scouting movement in 1907 when he held a week-long camp for 21 boys near Dorset, England.
The local event will take place at the 7th Doveton Scout Group Hall on the corner of Magnolia and Catalpa streets in Doveton from 1pm.
