NARRE Warren Library will host a visit from author Kate Legge on Wednesday 30 January at 6.30pm.
The multi award-winning journalist covered federal politics out of Canberra, presidential elections in the USA and writes on social affairs in The Australian newspaper.
Her stunning debut novel, The Unexpected Elements of Love, has been listed for the Miles Franklin Award.
The book features an insightful exploration of contemporary family issues set against the engrossing and increasingly urgent subject – the Australian climate.
This special author visit is part of the State Library of Victoria’s holiday reading program – The Summer Read, which invites readers to take a trip through the pages of 20 books which are either set in Victoria or are written by authors who call Victoria home.
The 20-book list, comprising both fiction and non-fiction, invites readers to vote for their favourite title before 1 February and offers many prizes.
The list and voting forms are available at Casey-Cardinia libraries, or you can log on to the State Library website www.slv.vic.gov.au/goto/summer-read or send a text message.
This author event is free to attend, but bookings are essential as numbers are limited.
