Christina a ‘valued staff member’

THE CITY of Casey has paid tribute to murdered employee Christina James.
Ms James was found fatally stabbed at her parents-in-law’s house in Somerville last week.
The Berwick resident worked within the city’s children’s services team for several years.
“The City of Casey is deeply saddened at the tragic passing of Christina James,” a statement issued by Casey read.
“Christina was a highly valued member of the children’s services team and her committed, warm approach to working with children and families will be sorely missed by everyone.”
Ms James’ husband, Mark James, 44, has been charged with her murder.
According to police, the couple had been separated for about six weeks with the man leaving the family house in Berwick to live with his parents in Somerville.
As a mark of respect, the City of Casey will fly its flag outside council chambers at half mast on the day of Ms James’ funeral.
Details of the funeral were still to be released at the time the News went to press.
