A BAG of 10 wickets between Cranbourne turf-one’s Shane Murdoch and Matthew Moore dispatched Parkfield for 158 on Saturday.
Cranbourne visited Parkfield, won the toss and chose to bowl on a wet track.
Moore produced the sterling figures of 4/35 off 25 overs and Murdoch bowled all but two overs from one end, finishing with 6/77 from 32 overs and once again proving why he is one of the most valuable players in the league.
In reply Cranbourne lost three quick wickets, but in youngsters, Brad Stephens and Dean McDonnell, has found two fresh faces to stage the fightback this week.

Cranbourne won the toss and got off to a great start, with the experienced duo of Al Courtney (44) and Peter Kelly (24) putting on 56 for the second wicket.
After that Cranbourne lost its way with too many loose shots, impatient batting and a lack of determination once again being its undoing.
In reply Shaun Petrie and Dan Baker made early breakthroughs taking three and two wickets respectively, leaving the game in the balance.

Cranbourne continued its run glut with another dominant performance.
Tony Ciantar opened the batting with 47 and first drop Daniel Fox made a hard fought and determined 48, but the fireworks came later in the innings. Luke King, making a cameo performance in the two-day game, batted at 5 and showed his considerable class on the way to a hard-hitting 70.
After the seventh wicket fell, Chris Lamb came in and in 14 overs thrashed 44 off the already tired HSD attack.

With a strong bowling attack Cranbourne had a lot on the line with a finals’ berth up for grabs.
Opener Keeran Braham took 2/60, but the two main bowlers were captain Dave Dinger, who took 3/113 off of 21 overs, while Glen Dickinson ripped through the tail to keep the damage to a minimum, taking 3/36 off of 14.1 economical overs.

Looking for a finals berth Cranbourne was well served by Steve Redgen, who battled hard for most of the day, making 31.
Dave Pratt made a quick-fire 23, but the highlight was the partnership between skipper Michael Randall who top-scored with 48 and Murray Pratt who made 36 not-out. The pair put on 76 for the eighth wicket.
Cranbourne took two quick wickets to leave the game in the balance.

Unfortunately the score got out of hand at the end.
