Cranbourne’s costly drops

CRANBOURNE Cricket Club’s turf-one side had a tough day at the office on the first day of the round eight two-day fixture on Saturday.
The side was set a mammoth task of scoring 309 for victory against Parkfield this week.
Dropped chances proved costly for Cranbourne with Ross Woodall being the best of the bowlers with 3/66.

Cranbourne put in a solid bowling and fielding performance against Parkfield, limiting it to 186. Andrew Toan with 5/38 was the standout performer.

A strong batting performance from Ryan Craven with 65 not out, Silvio Marinelli 55 and Michael Ewin 35 saw Cranbourne to a total of 244 against Lynbrook.

Shannon Parkin continued his good form in Saturday’s match against Lyndale, top scoring with a well-made 65 in Cranbourne’s 9/213.

The Blues Matt Crozier 16 and Harley Miller were the best with the bat, while bowling accolades went to Mitchell Whitam who took a hat-trick and finished with 3/6 and Jake Smith 3/7.
