THE Narre Warren Fire Brigade is looking for volunteers.
Brigade captain Noel Collins said there were many benefits in becoming a CFA member.
“Volunteers receive nationally recognised and accredited training that can be beneficial in both personal and employment environments,” he said.
Training includes leadership skills and first-aid tuition.
“Your commitment level is up to you, how much you put in is how much you get out of it,” he said.
“This job is one of the most satisfying things you can do in terms of helping people out in times of need.”
The brigade is looking for members who are 16 years or older and members under 18 require parental consent.
Captain Collins said the brigade was looking for people to help out at all hours of the day.
“They can be self employed, work from home, or be shift workers – it doesn’t matter, just so long as they live or work in the brigade area,” he said.
“The brigade is going through exciting times with plans for a brand new station in Narre Warren South.”
For further information about becoming a CFA volunteer, contact the recruitment hotline on 1800 232 636 or visit the www.cfa.vic.gov.au website.
