Less weight makes more of a man

A BERWICK man has shaken off more than 33 kilograms in 10 weeks with the help of a milkshake based weight loss program.
George Savkov is a new man after his massive transformation from weighing 119kgs to now tipping the scales at 83kgs.
“It has turned my life around 180 degrees. People don’t recognise me now and I take that as a compliment,” Mr Savkov said.
He said a regular exercise routine has also played a vital part in his weight loss.
“I’ve probably walked, cycled or jogged a total of 20 kilometres every day since the program.”
Mr Savkov said losing the weight had been the “easiest thing I’ve done in my life.”
“People think that when you go on a diet you have to change your whole lifestyle but you don’t.”
He credits his weight loss to a program being run out of a Fountain Gate Chemist.
It involves drinking specially formulated milkshakes in replacement of two meals a day.
Terry White Chemist employee Chrissie McArdle said 5000 people had signed up at the store since its inception.
She said Mr Savkov’s weight loss had been higher than average with most men losing between seven and eight kilograms a month and women shedding four to six kilograms in a month.
Mr Savkov said the support he had received from families and friends had been one of the most positive things to come out of the whole situation.
“I’ve got a 15-year-old daughter who has probably been the most supportive through it all. My wife is also rapt.”
He said he had given almost every item of clothing he had to the Salvation Army and purchased a new wardrobe.
“It has just changed my life so much.”
