LITTLE ATHLETICS BRIEFS

NARRE WARREN
UNDER-12 girl Stefanie Fenton broke the shotput record this week with a put of 9.33 metres, breaking the record set in 1991 by three metres.
This brings Stefanie’s total to three records broken in field events so far this season.
Narre Warren little athletes competed in Pentathlon one program on Saturday morning with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Each athlete had to compete in five events to be eligible for points and a placing.
Training is on Thursday evening from 5pm to 6.15pm at Max Pawsey Reserve, Fountain Drive, Narre Warren.
The Friday is the first twilight meeting for the season starting at 5.30pm.
The club would also like to wish the athletes competing in the region relays at Springvale on Sunday, 20 November luck and good running.
DOVETON ENDEAVOUR HILLS
NOT to be outdone by his older siblings, who have broken records in the past few weeks, Oisin Clarken smashed the club discus record for the under-eight boys during last Saturday’s pentathlon at the Dandenong Centre.
His throw of 18.84 metres bettered the existing record by 1.37 metres. Oisin also gained the coveted Mortgage Choice five-star award for his performances this season.
Pentathlon placings will be announced next week. Also a reminder to families that this week will be a twilight competition on Friday, 18 November, starting at 5.30pm.
HALLAM
THE rain again held off as athletes competed in Pentathlon one with results being collated and available next week.
In a return to form after injury, Luke Sheppard broke the under-15 boys 300 hurdle record and the 400-metres record last weekend.
This week children will compete on Friday night in the first twilight competition for the season. Competition will start at 5.30pm.
Good luck to all athletes competing at Springvale for region relays this weekend.
This is the last year under-15 boys Luke Sheppard and James Triantafilou will be competing at this event.
Both have represented Dandenong at region and state level for the past seven years with teammates Aaron Mills and Nick De Lisle.
