Medals on for march

LOCAL war veterans donned their medals and proudly marched into the main street of Berwick last week for the town’s Anzac Day service.
A large crowd attended the moving event which was held at the cenotaph in High Street.
Diggers left the Berwick RSL shortly before 11am and marched to the cenotaph to join in on the service.
Members of the Army and Navy also participated in the memorial service.
City of Casey mayor Janet Halsall along with representatives from several schools, business groups and clubs, laid wreaths at the memorial.
Berwick RSL president Les Lucas spoke to the crowd about his personal experiences during his time in Vietnam.
The Last Post was played by Berwick Concert Band member Tim Barker. The crowd was then invited back to the RSL hall for refreshments.
