More trains on track

CASEY commuters are set to benefit from improvements to the Dandenong, Cranbourne and Pakenham train lines.
Connex, operator of Melbourne’s suburban railway network, has announced that it will begin operating its late night train services from Friday, 20 October.
Late night service departure times from Flinders Street Station for the Pakenham and Cranbourne line will be 12.32am and 1.02am.
In response to increased customer numbers along the Dandenong line, Connex also added 25 services to the timetable each week from last Monday 16 October.
The introduction of services along the Dandenong line has led to arrival and departure time adjustments for other services on the Pakenham and Cranbourne line.
As a result of these changes, new timetables are available online at connexmelbourne.com.au or metlinkmelbourne.com.au, or by calling Metlink on 131 638.
Other passenger service improvements that also started from Monday, 16 October on the Pakenham and Cranbourne line include:
• 6.39am from Pakenham to Flinders Street will depart at 6.41am and run express from Caulfield to South Yarra, arriving at 7.56am.
• 5.02pm Flinders Street to Pakenham will depart at 5.01pm will not stop at Huntingdale, arriving at 6.12pm.
• 5.45pm Flinders Street to Pakenham will depart at 5.38pm, run express from South Yarra to Malvern, stop all stations to Oakleigh then run express to Clayton, arriving at 6.52pm.
•7.08pm Flinders Street to Pakenham is altered to stop all stations, arriving at 8.24pm; and 7.18pm Flinders Street to Cranbourne will depart at 7.19pm and run express from South Yarra to Malvern, arriving at 8.21pm.
Some of the Dandenong line services to be added to the timetable are:
• 7.01am from Dandenong stopping all stations direct to Flinders Street, arriving at 7.47am.
• 7.19am from Dandenong stopping all stations direct to Flinders Street, arriving at 8.04am.
• 5.10pm from Flinders Street to Dandenong, via the City Loop and express from South Yarra to Caulfield, arriving at 6pm.
• 5.45pm from Flinders Street to Dandenong, via the City Loop and express from South Yarra to Caulfield, from Caulfield to Oakleigh then stopping all stations, arriving at 6.32pm.
