Mum gets a perfect 10

By Callan Date
WHEN Isabel Selio gets breakfast in bed this Mother’s Day she can sit back, relax and know she has earned it.
With 10 children under the age of 16 most would agree.
Ms Selio, along with husband Michael, will be greeted by Emily, 15, Milo Vale, 14, Isa, 13, Grace, 11, Ayla, 10, Michael, seven, Isaac, four, Ohana, three, Henry, one, and three-month old Carlos.
The family of 12 uses every inch of their four-bedroom house in Narre Warren with bunk beds saving space in most rooms.
The Selio house is full of laughter with rarely a dull, or quiet, moment according to Ms Selio.
“You are never lonely. There is always someone to talk to or something going on,” she said.
Another bonus for the children is, with six girls and four boys, there is always someone to play with.
The older girls said they would prepare breakfast in bed for their mother and father this Sunday and would also shower their mother with hand-made gifts.
The Selio family first came to the attention of Berwick News readers in January when a car crashed through their bedroom window and into Henry’s cot.
Ms Selio picked up her son from his cot just before an out-of-control car careered through their front yard and smashed into the bedroom window.
No one was injured in the collision and Ms Selio says the family has now fully recovered from the shock.
“Everything is fine now. We love it here and we wouldn’t think of moving.”
As for any more additions to the household, Ms Selio says, “We are happy with 10. We wanted an even number and 10 is enough.”
