Narre sides show depth

NARRE Warren’s A-grade batsmen and bowlers were on top for a good win against St Brigid’s-St Louis on Saturday and most other sides did well.
A GRADE
Resuming 3/87 with the first-innings win already achieved, quick runs for Narre Warren were the order of the day and, after 15 overs, Narre declared at 6/157 with a lead of 72.
Glen Clark (29), Martin (20) and Craig Caarels (17 not out) were the pick of the batting.
St Brigid’s-St Louis was put under pressure and was 3/48 at tea.
Three quick wickets after tea had Narre Warren in the box seat for outright victory, but some solid rearguard batting got the St Brigid’s-St Louis score to 8/143 by the close.
Clark bowled well for his four wickets and Mark Sarlija took three.
B GRADE
Playing Berwick and defending 184, Narre Warren’s Brett Conway and Danny Phillips both began by bowling well. Conway ended with 3/16 off 15 overs and Phillips 2/7. Narre took victory by 54 runs.
D GRADE
Resuming 2/34 against Doveton North and needing 164 runs to win, Narre Warren was bowled out for 104, Christian Winship making 19.
E GRADE
Defending 201 with a good bowling performance, Narre Warren dismissed Endeavour Hills for 94.
The wickets were shared by Trevor Moon (2/17), Roy Huke (2/8), George Barker (2/18), Rob Brew (2/5) and Mark Lochery (1/19).
Under-13 player Dylan Quirk took a good catch, got a run out and, combined with his batting on the first week, won the man-of-the-match award.
ONE-DAY GRADE
Narre Warren, playing HSD, lost the toss and was sent into the field.
Best of the bowlers were Simon Kaye (4/15), Onrae Ferdinands (3/24) and Nicholas Howard (1/13), HSD reaching 8/145.
In reply Narre had an early collapse, Jason Orchard being unable to repeat his century of the previous week and going cheaply. Despite good batting by Kaye and Daniel Anderson (both 20) Narre Warren went down by 31 runs.
UNDER 15 (2)
Narre Warren was playing St Mary’s at Hillcrest and after a steady start was 3/58 at drinks.
Rokhan Yousafzai and Kushal Khan put on 20 in four overs, lifting the team, and Rivad Chazbeck guided Narre to victory with 27.

Narre was chasing 190 and openers Matt Darvell (51 not out) and Ryan Misquith (33) got a good start.
At the halfway mark, Narre was 1/107 and cruising to victory, but lost wickets and was unable to score enough runs in the latter stages, falling short at 8/180.
UNDER 13 (1)
Playing Berwick and defending a score of 168 in tough conditions Narre Warren bowled extremely well.
This was supported by excellent fielding that resulted in several run outs.
Berwick was dismissed for 135, Jack Spreckley returning the best figures of 2/10.
UNDER 13 (2)
Narre Warren chased Berwick’s 5/89 and was 3/114 at close of play.
Braden King (25 not out), Jarryd Straker (25 not out), who put on 50 runs in partnership and Jayden Arter (12 not out) guided Narre Warren to a win by seven wickets.

Chasing Dandenong North’s 78, Narre Waren lost an early wicket to be 1/6.
However determination took the team to 4/96 by the end of play.
It was a great team effort for its first win of the season.
Best of the bats were David Santalucia (25 not out) and Nick Shirt (20 not out).
UNDER 11 (4) BLACK
Narre Warren batted first at Lyndhurst, making 89 from 20 overs.
The best of the bats were Hayden Stagg with 11, Michael Thomson with 15 (including a six) and Jayden Bosman with seven.
Good catches were taken and there were a couple of run-outs in the slippery conditions.
Best of the bowlers were Dhakshitha Gamawalawwe with 1/1, Cameron Skurrie (0/5) and Paul Moreland (1/2), Narre Warren keeping the opposition to 66.
