POLICE are calling for witnesses after a fire broke out at a George Avenue home in Hallam.
The 38-year-old resident awoke about 2.40am on Thursday 31 January after hearing a crackling noise outside her house.
Police said a child’s push bike and a mattress, possibly from the hard rubbish collection were pushed to the side of the house and deliberately lit.
There was no damage to the house structure.
Police said there was a prior incident of a similar nature at the same address in December last year.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to call Senior Constable Dean Marchant at Narre Warren police station on 9705 3111.
