TWO men used a pair of scissors in an attempted armed robbery at the United petrol station on Princes Highway in Hallam on Saturday, 1 March.
Police said at 9.55pm the two males entered the petrol station and grabbed some bottles of drink without paying for them.
The console operator approached the men in relation to the theft.
Police said an argument broke out and one man produced a pair of scissors and demanded money.
No money was handed over.
The men left the scene in a red Holden Commodore.
Police appealed to anyone with information to contact Detective Senior Constable Craig Small at Frankston Police Station on 9784 5555.
