Skype gets people talking for free

Nick Verhaar
VOICE-over IP technology is a relatively new form of communication that has been gaining enormous attention for both business and home use.
Otherwise known as VoIP, this new service makes it possible for users to make telephone calls on-line to other VoIP users anywhere in the world and allows them to chat just as if it were a normal telephone, completely free of any charges.
This kind of service could be of huge benefit to those that have friends and relatives that live interstate or even overseas and do not want to pay for international phone calls.
Businesses that have branches throughout the country and the rest of the world could also greatly benefit from VoIP, as it could eliminate a lot of their inter-office call charges.
If you are interested in checking out the Voice over IP technology there are many different providers available. However, one of the most predominant free providers would have to be Skype.
Not only does Skype make it possible for users to make calls to other Skype users for free, but they also offer other more advanced communication services for paying customers as well.
Utilising extremely low call rates, users can call regular mobile and landline telephones at a fraction of the cost of normal telephone calls. You can even have a telephone number assigned to your Skype account so that regular telephone users can dial your number and it will ring on your computer.
If you are interested in checking out Skype, then point your browser to http://www.skype.com and grab a copy of their free VoIP software.
