The wrap on fund raising

WITH Mother’s Day just days away, two community groups have come together to help dads and children tackle a sometimes difficult task – gift wrapping.
From yesterday, local Cancer Council Relay for Life Volunteers have been running a present wrapping service at Westfield Fountain Gate with 20 dedicated wrappers at the helm.
The stall is open from 10am to 8pm today and tomorrow (Friday) and from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and will be located in the Best and Less mall.
Westfield has donated all the wrapping paper and ribbons and all funds raised from the stall will help raise money for cancer research.
Enthusiastic wrapper and volunteer Gwen McKinnon said they were hoping to raise as much money as possible for the cause.
Ms McKinnon, of Narre Warren, is a member of the Early Birds, a walking group that recently took part in the third annual Casey Cardinia Relay for Life, which also raised funds for cancer research.
Early Bird members as well as volunteers from the Sleepy Heads, another Relay for Life group, will be conducting the gift wrapping service.
