Time to play in Casey

COUNCIL has completed stage one refurbishment works of 13 existing playgrounds across Casey as part of the 2007 to 2008 capital works program and stage two works are set to start on a further 15 playgrounds.
City of Casey manager of parks and reserves Trevor Griffin said the refurbished playgrounds reflected the needs and interests of local families who contributed ideas into the final design.
“The new playgrounds look exciting and attractive,” Mr Griffin said.
“Local playgrounds are a focal point in Casey’s neighbourhoods and offer social interaction for families as well as supporting healthy lifestyles by encouraging children to climb, swing, slide, balance, rock and spin,” he said.
The stage two refurbishment works are due to be completed by the end of June.
Some of the playgrounds that have been included in the latest refurbishment works are Manuka Reserve in Berwick, Elizabeth Reserve in Cranbourne North, Fulham Court in Endeavour Hills, Lancaster Reserve in Narre Warren and Pearcedale Recreation Reserve in Pearcedale.
