Youth charged after stabbing

POLICE have charged a Doveton boy with assault causing serious injury and assault with a weapon after an incident at a party in Boronia last week.
The 16-year-old was a guest at the party that was gatecrashed by about 10 youths just before 11.30pm last Friday.
He has been bailed to appear before the Ringwood Children’s Court on 29 August. A 15-year-old Boronia boy has also been charged with affray, assault with a weapon, unlawful assault and trespass. A 15-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in the abdomen and an arm. He has undergone surgery and is still recovering in hospital.
Police said other partygoers received superficial injuries during the incident.
