Mum delivers… right on time

– Kelly Yates
A NARRE Warren mother has struck it lucky three times in a row with the recent birth of her baby girl.
Kate Nagle is now the proud mother of three girls, Alyse, 4, Amy, 2 and Lilly, two weeks old, and accomplished the unthinkable, giving birth to all three children on their predicted due dates.
Doctors at Berwick’s St John of God hospital got it right for the mother, saying there was a three per cent chance of doing it once but amazingly Ms Nagle did it three times in a row.
“I’m still stunned. When it happened the third time I just couldn’t believe it. Even my doctor, Dr Jorg Kemper was laughing.”
To add to the family rarity, the longest time Mrs Nagle was in labour for was three hours and 15 minutes.
“Doctors say to expect at least 10 hours minimum in labour. So I was shocked when my first birth was over in just three hours,” she said.
Whether it is luck or coincidence, the full-time mother said she just adored her girls.
Ms Nagle will celebrate Mother’s Day at home with her family by her side.
“A quiet one at home sounds nice. A possible sleep in with the girls making me homemade cards is just a fantastic feeling,” she said.
Husband and father Matthew Nagle said he was extremely proud of his wife.
“She’s just a machine when it comes to giving birth,” he said. “To do it three times in a row is such a rare accomplishment.”
